We were honoured to support Band of Builders on Toby’s Project in Norfolk, and to play a small part in supporting this incredible cause.
16 year-old Toby was born 13 weeks premature. A lack of oxygen at birth caused cerebral palsy, dystonia, and other complications. Toby is housebound and requires round-the-clock care.
His father, Shaun, began renovating their home to create a safe, accessible environment for his son. Tragically, Shaun was fighting his own silent battle and took his own life on Christmas Eve. It’s a devastating reminder of the mental health crisis within the construction industry – one that has been too often ignored for too long.
For many in the industry, struggling in silence has become the norm. But it shouldn’t be. And it doesn’t have to be.
That’s why organisations like Band of Builders are so important – not just for the practical help they give to families like Toby’s, but for the message they send: that compassion and community have a place in construction.
We’re proud that our protection materials helped safeguard the build, but even prouder to support a cause that’s protecting lives and sparking vital conversations.
Thank you to Band of Builders for trusting us to be part of this. We’re behind you – and the people you support – all the way.
