Protec Sponsors a Local Crew in the World’s Toughest Row Challenge

We were delighted to sponsor The Entrepreneur Ship, a two-man crew of Will Lomas and Adam Hardman who competed in the World’s Toughest Row 2024, an extreme endurance rowing race that sees competitors from across the globe test themselves against the might of the Atlantic Ocean.

Will and Adam rowed ‘Lucy,’ their ocean rowing boat, 3,000 miles unsupported from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua and Barbuda, in support of UnLtd, the UK’s charity that finds, funds and supports enterprising individuals with solutions that positively transform our society.

After 47 days, 1 hour, and 1 minute at sea Will and Adam safety arrived into Antigua on 27th January 2025, finishing second in the pairs category and 20th overall, with 17 more boats still to finish.

Their journey was nothing short of extraordinary, overcoming immense challenges throughout the race. They endured two capsizes and two knockdowns, battled towering waves, and pushed through relentless exhaustion. And they encountered incredible wildlife too, including marlins, tuna, and seabirds.

Will and Adam’s journey has been an inspiring story of perseverance, camaraderie, teamwork and adventure. They rowed two hours on and two hours off, around the clock for weeks, reaching an impressive top speed of 19.3 knots during the race.

Both from the North West, Will and Adam are passionate about inspiring others to take on big challenges. They hope their story will encourage others to step out of their comfort zones and dream big. Everyone at Protec looks forward to seeing the positive impact they and their experience can make in their communities and beyond.

Their arrival can be viewed on the World’s Toughest Row YouTube channel.
