We were delighted to sponsor The Entrepreneur Ship, a two-man crew of Will Lomas and Adam Hardman who competed in the World’s Toughest Row 2024- a 3,000 mile rowing race that sees competitors from across the globe test themselves against the might of the Atlantic Ocean.
Will and Adam rowed Lucy, their ocean rowing boat, unsupported from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua and Barbuda. They took this challenge to raise funds for UnLtd, a UK charity that supports entrepreneurs making a difference in their communities.
After 47 days, 1 hour, and 1 minute at sea, Will and Adam safety arrived in Antigua on 27th January 2025. As a result, they secured second in the pairs category and 20th overall– with 17 more boats still to finish.
Their journey proved extraordinary. Overcoming immense challenges throughout the race with courage and resilience. In addition, they endured two capsizes and experienced two knockdowns, battled towering waves. However, despite exhaustion and constant shifts – two hours on, two hours off- they kept going. At one point, they even hit a top speed of 19.3 knots.
Wildlife encounter added some extraordinary moments, with sights of marlins, tuna, and seabirds.
Will and Adam’s journey has been an inspiring story of perseverance, camaraderie, teamwork and adventure.
Both from the North West, they are passionate about inspiring others to take on big and bold challenges. They hope their story will encourage others to step out of their comfort zones and dream big. At Protec, we’re excited to see how their experience fuels positive changes in communities.
Their arrival can be viewed on the World’s Toughest Row YouTube channel.
