Castle Bingo, Pontypridd – Tilbury Douglas

Castle Bingo Pontypridd underwent a comprehensive fit-out, requiring temporary protection solutions to safeguard various surfaces throughout the project.

BACKGROUND TO THE PROJECT

Castle Bingo in Pontypridd required a high-quality fit-out to transform the space while ensuring that surfaces remained undamaged throughout construction. Tilbury Douglas, a longstanding partner of Protec, sought a solution that would not only provide effective temporary protection but also align with their sustainability goals.

THE CHALLENGE

Tilbury Douglas needed a temporary protection solution that could be removed and disposed of sustainably. They also required Protec to collect used Proplex sheets within 24 hours at the same cost as their normal waste stream, which would typically have resulted in disposal via incineration or landfill.

PROJECT SOLUTION

Protec recommended implementing the Proplex ClosedLoop Re-manufacturing Scheme, ensuring the used sheets Proplex was collected, recycled, and remanufactured into new post-consumer ProplexRE protection.

All used ProplexFR sheets from the Castle Bingo project were successfully collected and transported to the our remanufacturing plant in Sheffiled. Here, they underwent a rigorous process of checking, shredding, cleaning, and extrusion into pellets before being reintegrated into the manufacturing cycle.

“Protec International are a trusted and longstanding supply chain partner to Tilbury Douglas providing Temporary Protection products across the full project portfolio. Their ClosedLoop Re-manufacturing Scheme enabling the recycling of Proplex products fits perfectly with Tilbury Douglas's ‘Creating Sustainable Value’ strategy, with the definitive benefits being, not only obvious, but measurable and reported.”
